Link an account to your IB account

Link a Tented account to your Interactive Brokers (IB) account when you want IB fills, order routing and account figures to reach that account’s journal.

Title bar → gear → Settings → Accounts, pick the account under Editing, then:

  1. Set Broker to Interactive Brokers. (Manual accounts have no Broker.)
  2. Set Broker account ID. While Tented is connected, pick from the accounts IB reports; otherwise choose Enter custom or type the ID, for example U1234567, or DU7654321 for paper.
  3. Click Save.

The ID does three things:

  • It matches imported fills and executions to this account.
  • It routes orders: the Commit dialog’s IB account defaults to it (“Use account default”).
  • It lets the Trades footer show Net liq and Excess for the IB account.

An account without the ID still works as a journal, but IB fills and missed-execution offers do not reach it. Several Tented accounts can use the same ID, for example two strategies you want to keep apart on one IB account.

Transmit orders by default. For an account linked to IB, this sets the Commit dialog’s Transmit box. Off, orders wait in TWS until you transmit them there (see Transmit or park in TWS).
