The title bar
The title bar is the strip across the top of the window. It switches views, opens Desk, Settings and Feedback, and shows whether Tented is connected to your broker.
Feedback, Desk, the gear menu and the connection chip.
- 1 Feedback
- 2 Desk (⌘5)
- 3 Gear menu
- 4 Connection chip
From the left:
- On Trades (and the full-window Desk), a sidebar button beside the window buttons hides and shows the list (⌃⌘S, Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows).
- In the middle, the view switch (What is Tented?).
- Feedback opens a conversation with Tented support. Describe a problem or an idea, attach screenshots, and send a report from the draft it writes.
- The speech-bubble button opens Desk over the whole window and closes it again.
- The gear opens the menu: your email and Sign out, Strategies, Settings (⌘,), the theme and density choices, and Reset layout.
- Chips appear only when they matter: Update to x.y.z when an update is ready, a sync notice such as Sync paused or Choose a journal, and Offline session when Tented cannot reach the sign-in server.
- The connection chip shows whether Tented is connected to your broker program. See Connection status.
Open Settings: Title bar → gear → Settings, or ⌘, (Ctrl+, on Windows). Clicking the connection chip opens Settings → Connection.
Send feedback: Title bar → Feedback. Add screenshots with Image, or Capture window on macOS and Windows. Support answers how-to questions, asks what it needs and drafts a report. Nothing is filed until you click Send report on the draft; you then get a reference.
If a chip is not what you expect, see Offline session in the title bar and Choose a journal chip.
