Delayed and frozen data

Data warnings appear on the left of the status bar only when data is not normal. Click one for details.

• Delayed data: quotes are about 15 minutes old. Tented falls back to delayed when IB reports no market data subscription for the product, even with Real-time selected. After you subscribe, click Reconnect: a fresh connect checks for live data again.
• Frozen: the market is closed; values are the last snapshot IB sent before the close. Tented switches to frozen data when the contract’s session is closed and back to live when it opens.
• Pre-open · held from a time (Workspaces): on SPXW, RUTW and VIX options, IB’s quotes between the extended and regular sessions are only indicative. Prices, P&L, greeks and the risk graph keep their 09:25 ET quotes until 09:30; the chain shows the current indicative quotes in grey. After the open each contract goes live on its first usable quote, and all of them within two minutes.
• Connection lost · quotes m:ss old (red): the broker stopped answering and Tented is reconnecting. Prices, P&L and greeks keep the values from when the connection dropped.

Note

All of these are by design. They tell you the numbers are not live, not that something broke.

To set Delayed on purpose, use Settings → Connection → Market data type. The Manage subscriptions button opens IB’s market data page.
