The next event in the status bar

When an Important event with a known time is less than two hours away, the right side of the status bar names it with a countdown (“in 42m”), in amber for the last 15 minutes. Use it to watch the clock on a short-gamma trade.

Note

The countdown appears only for Important events with a known time within the next two hours. Outside that, the status bar shows nothing for events; by design.

Clicking the clock in the status bar switches the time zone between Local and New York, as in The economic calendar. If a time in the panel reads “The usual time for this release; the publisher has not confirmed it.”, see Calendar time is unconfirmed or missing.
