The risk graph doesn't match my broker
What you see. The T+ curves, theta or the P&L at a price differ from your broker’s or another platform’s. Or the toolbar reads “Sticky strike” while Skew is set.
Why. This is by design:
- Trading time decays less overnight and over weekends, so tonight’s theta is smaller than a broker that charges every hour alike.
- Skew moves IV along the smile as price changes.
- Index and index-ETF options are priced on the level put-call parity implies, not the print. The expanded legend then reads “Options price SPX at …”.
- Futures options and VIX options always use sticky strike, so “Sticky strike” beside the toolbar is expected for them.
What to do. Choose Calendar and Sticky strike in Settings → Trading to compare like for like. See How Tented prices options.
