Notifications

When Tented’s window is not the focused one, an alert, a met scenario condition or a fill also posts a native notification, and the toast stays until you close it. Clicking the notification brings Tented forward and opens that trade. When the window is focused, you get only the toast.

Settings → General has one toggle per kind, all on by default: Alert notifications, Condition notifications and Fill notifications. If nothing appears, allow Tented in System Settings → Notifications (macOS) or Windows Settings → System → Notifications.

Note

Notifications come from the Tented desktop app on this computer only. There are no emails or phone pushes, and nothing runs while Tented is closed.

What keeps running

The background monitor watches every open trade’s alerts and scenario conditions whichever view is on screen. It checks every two seconds, and keeps running when Tented is minimized or behind other applications. It stops when you close the window: closing Tented’s main window quits the app, so a closed Tented watches nothing.

It reads quotes from the connected market-data provider, IB or (on Windows) thinkorswim. Under thinkorswim an alert reads “Watching · ~1 min”, never “live”.
