Troubleshooting
Each article starts from what you see on screen, says why it happens and what to do. Where Tented works as intended, the article says so.
Install, sign-in and the app
Section titled “Install, sign-in and the app”- Windows protected your PC
- Tented won’t update
- Update to sync
- Sign-in never returns to Tented
- Offline session in the title bar
- Trades says “Add an account to start trading”
- A “Choose a journal” chip appears in the title bar
- “Something went wrong” screen
- The window is white, slow or unresponsive
- Send Feedback and get a reference number
- Find Tented’s logs
- A keyboard shortcut does nothing
Connection and quotes
Section titled “Connection and quotes”- The chip stays on “Waiting for IB”
- No quotes in the chain
- “Delayed data” shows with Real-time selected
- Prices look frozen or stale
- Strikes far from the money have no quotes
- A figure shows a dash
- Tented’s numbers differ from my broker’s
- Quotes in another workspace tab are not moving
Workspaces, chain and builder
Section titled “Workspaces, chain and builder”- Can’t add a workspace or panel
- Chain says Not connected
- Chain shows no contracts or won’t load
- A chain quote is greyed or marked as an estimate
- Chain price differs from the index print
- A symbol finds the wrong instrument
- A futures option chain shows no quotes
- Expired dates are missing from the chain
- Pos is empty though I hold the legs
- Clicking the chain adds no legs
- A trade I opened today shows no position
- Scenario says waiting for quotes
- Paste says the order is for another symbol
- Copy is disabled for a thinkorswim order
- No setups on a new trade
- Couldn’t use a setup
Risk graph and pricing
Section titled “Risk graph and pricing”- The risk graph doesn’t match my broker
- The risk graph shows a warning chip
- The risk graph is empty or still loading
- A leg tab can’t be dragged
- A calendar’s Max L looks too small
- Max L reads Unlimited on my spread
- PoP is missing or differs from my broker’s
- The builder Margin differs from my IB margin
- % of margin · not on this trade
- Pricing setting is missing or decay looks flat
- A condition isn’t watched or can’t be saved
- A condition didn’t fire
Orders and fills
Section titled “Orders and fills”- Commit or Send is disabled
- The status bar says “order waiting in TWS”
- IB refused my order, or I cancelled it, but the trade shows the position
- IB margin change, Commission and Excess after are blank
- The limit price I typed moved
- I can’t change a working order’s price
- No Fill detected card, or a fill did not change the trade
Trades, plans and alerts
Section titled “Trades, plans and alerts”- A trade card shows a dash or an age instead of P&L
- The Trades sidebar is empty or a trade is missing
- Net liq and Excess are missing from the footer
- There is no Adjust or Roll button
- An expired trade stays open
- An alert did not fire, or fired only once
- No operating-system notification
Journal, import and performance
Section titled “Journal, import and performance”- A trade is missing from the Journal
- Record a combo or Paste from thinkorswim is greyed out
- An open trade’s P&L is a dash or has an age beside it
- P&L differs between the Journal, Performance and the Trades view
- Import unavailable: not connected to TWS
- No “IB: N executions are not in the journal” offer
- Pasting from thinkorswim fails or skips a fill
- A thinkorswim fill was skipped as a duplicate
- Tented refuses my OptionNET Explorer file
- ONE trade times are off by hours
- The ONE file could not be read, or rows were skipped
- Imported trade times look off
- Performance shows no figures, no ratios or a dash
- A trade is in the wrong month or period in Performance
Briefing and Desk
Section titled “Briefing and Desk”- A calendar event is missing
- A calendar event has no time or an unconfirmed time
- Briefing says to sign in or cannot reach Tented
- News is not updating or Important shows few stories
- No AI summary, or a release will not open in the reader
- Sign in to use Desk
- Desk limit reached or a lighter model wrote the reply
- Desk is queued, stops early or could not finish a reply
- Desk cannot read quotes or does not know what a chart shows
