Connection status

The connection chip at the right of the title bar shows whether Tented is talking to your broker program.

• A green dot and IB (TOS for thinkorswim) mean connected.
• Otherwise it reads Connecting…, Reconnecting…, Waiting for IB or Disconnected.
• Hover it for the last connection message. Click it to open Settings → Connection.

Auto-connect. If a connect fails, Tented dials again every 5 seconds until TWS answers; meanwhile the chip reads Waiting for IB. With Connect at launch on, you can start Tented before you log in to TWS.

Note

When quotes stop for about 15 seconds with the market open, Tented reconnects up to five times, then dials every 5 seconds. See Delayed and frozen data.

After connecting, a notice can say “IB: n executions are not in the journal”: fills happened at IB that the journal does not have. Click Review in Import or Dismiss. Working orders that finished while Tented was closed are settled on connect.
