Read a trade card

A card is one trade in the sidebar. From top to bottom:

  1. Account glyph, symbol, name and structure (“SPX Sep 23 put BWB”), and the P&L. An age such as “3m” beside the P&L means the trade was last valued that long ago. A draft shows “draft” instead of a P&L, and an × on hover to discard it.
  2. The progress bar. A mark on it shows your target or stop when you set one.
  3. DTE (the earliest held expiration, in New York dates), size (2×), Δ and time in the trade (12d, 4h).
  4. One status line, kept free even when empty so cards do not move.

It shows the first that applies, in this order:

  1. Loss limit reached.
  2. Quotes stale (with its age).
  3. Working order, or In TWS · not sent.
  4. Expires today.
  5. A scenario condition met (“Hedge with a 7580/7540 put spread met 10:42”, or “2 steps met”).
  6. Profit target reached.
  7. The payoff location: “11 pts to upper edge” or “11 pts to lower edge” (the distance to the profit-zone edge while inside it), “12 pts below break-even”, “12 pts above break-even”, or “12 pts to nearest profit zone”.

Hover a flag for what Tented compared. Target and stop flags need a plan and fresh quotes (Set a target and stop). Payoff-location lines describe the expiration payoff. They are facts about where price sits, not a recommendation.

  • A draft card shows DTE, size and age, then “N modeled legs · not placed” (or “no legs yet”).
  • A closed card shows the close date, size and the result as a share of the trade’s maximum, such as “52% of max” or “−38% of max loss”.
  • Double-click a card or press F2 to rename.
  • New (⌘N) opens the account picker for a new draft (Place an order).
  • Right-click a draft for Discard draft, any other card for Delete trade… (Delete a trade).

If a card shows “—” or an age instead of a live P&L, see A trade card shows a dash or an age.
